CLARITY

PERSONAL MASTERY

ACHIEVEMENT

Pragmatic Coaching Partnership
For Leaders And Professionals

COACHING IS NOT UNIFORM

We come to coaching for a wide array of objectives. We have a vision for something that’s daunting, we have a challenge that’s slowing us, we have a change we want to effect, we have an area we want to develop.

Rising to these objectives is a different project for each of us.  What will be your best fit is highly personal.

That’s the question… What will help YOU excel in this?

In our work, I facilitate a bespoke learning process. Getting beyond the surface and figuring out what’s really needed for an objective and for actual systemic evolution. It’s about finding crucial keys, building new muscle, and increasing your ability to act. The effect of this work goes far beyond our time together.

MY APPROACH

RESULTS FOCUS

My focus on depth is a focus on results. The surface stuff never holds us back, bears our strongest vision, propels us sustainably, or grants us clarity.

Deep seeing and learning beget the ability to act intuitively, nimbly, and with our full weight.

Learning begets new action.

Action begets the best learning.

Results are a natural byproduct.

COMMITTED TO CANDOR

Clients say I’m warm, empathetic, and emotionally supportive. At the same time, I bring strength and resolve when it’s time to face hard truths.

Relatedly, I help my clients work with discomfort; be OK with it. Everything we want lies on the other side of our comfort zone.

MY SUBJECT MATTER EXPERTISE

I’ve studied neuroscience, behavioral science, and the learnings of meditative traditions for over 30 years.

Whether working with ourselves or others, these sciences often help us untangle the odd complexities of humans. And help us create structure and actionable projects out of the counterintuitive soup.

BETTER QUESTIONS, BIGGER PROBLEMS

Often, it’s not about answers, it’s about the questions that steer us.

Similarly, sometimes it’s not about solving problems, it’s about finding bigger (or better) problems to solve.

Together, we find better questions and bigger problems.

DIRECTIVE VS. NON-DIRECTIVE?

Sometimes we need advice and an experienced perspective. (directive support, consulting, mentoring) Often, what a non-directive coach brings is even more rare and valuable.  We sometimes benefit from both.  Somewhat counterintuitively, it’s often advantageous to have them from separate sources.  (And often, through coaching, we get clear on exactly what expertise should be sought.)

MINDFULNESS TOOLS

Mindfulness tools and the muscles built with meditation are often highly valuable in leadership, change-making, and professional development.

I help professionals understand the scope of mindfulness and choose tools that fit.  (Including teaching meditation for professional development.)

UNIVERSAL ECLECTIC APPROACH

Neuroscience shows that our Logical self is actually beholden to our Emotional and Somatic selves.  There’s great value in both cognitive and felt sense approaches. I believe in leaving no helpful tool off the table and embrace a broad toolkit, including Humanistic, Cognitive Behavioral, Somatic, Gestalt, Systems Approach, Experimental Learning Cycle, Emotional Intelligence work, and more.

GIVING BACK

I’M WHOLEHEARTED ABOUT BEING AN AMBASSADOR FOR COACHING

Coaching has a tremendous ripple effect. I want more of it in our shared world. And, I commonly find it’s incompletely understood.

Separate from looking for right-fit clients, I feel purposeful about being a resource, offering unpressured conversations to help people navigate the broad, ambiguous world of coaching, and find their or their organization’s fit.

If you know someone who might benefit from an unattached perspective, please consider connecting us!

FIRST RESPONDERS AND HEALTH PROFESSIONALS

14 years on an Ambulance left me with profound care and respect for this community.  Though there are resources available, many fail to find solutions or support that fit them. Coaching can be near-ideally suited to gaps like these, helping people develop their way of managing overload and stressors and move back toward loving what they do. (As well as a host of other coaching objectives.)

I offer deeply reduced rates for First Responders and Health Professionals (or, sometimes this work can be employer-sponsored), and I regularly volunteer with pro-bono initiatives.

Please reach out if you or someone you know might like a conversation about coaching!

PRO BONO WORK

I keep a few slots in my schedule open for high-impact leaders who heartfully serve our world and may not have budget for coaching. Often in non-profit, social justice, and environmental sectors.

Please reach out if there’s someone you might wish to nominate!
